Phil and Linda Byler, missionaries in Sudan

In Africa you defer the best chair to the ‘Big Man’. This can be a problem when the whole room is full of Big Men. For these three days Bishops from our partner churches in five countries gathered in South Sudan for a prayer summit. The ‘prayer chair’ allowed focused prayer and scripture ministry to each Big Man one by one.

Tears and laughter alternated as these spiritual giants received the personal ministry which they are always pouring out to others. Continences brightened and shoulders squared as shared burdens lifted through the laying on of prayerful hands.

These five men return to their national church roles with rejuvenated hands to bless the 12 million members under their collective leadership charge.

Now that’s Big ministry for the One very Big Man, JESUS.

Philip Byler
